  • TITLE Analysis of archaeological wood samples found in the Charavines lake in the Station des Baigneurs (Isère Départment, France).
  • LANGUAGE French
  • SPECIES Fagus sylvatica L., Abies alba Mill.
  • SITES Lac de Charavines, Isère Department, South-East of France.

  • Archaeological wood samples found in the lake of Charavines (Isère, France) were analysed with dendroclimatical methods. Two species were found: The Beech (Fagus sylvatica) and the White Fir (Abies alba). The trees were cut with a lag of 6 years, and both chronologies show similar variations, suggesting that the trees were growing in the same site.
